February 16, 2012Free upcoming webinar: You have website visitors… now what?
January 12, 2012It’s a grim reality: Over 95% of your website’s visitors won’t take any action on your site. They show up. Then they go. And so do your leads or sales.
This educational webinar, moderated by Shawn Elledge of DemandCon and presented by John Costigan, CEO of Costigan Training, will give you insight and ammunition to do something about it. It takes place online, on Wednesday, January 18 at 2 p.m. EST. And it’s totally free. You can learn more and sign up here.
Here are just a few of the topics they’ll cover:
- A proven methodology for identifying and contacting the companies that visit your website
- How to reach the person you really need to speak to quickly and efficiently
- The three “must do’s” you need to accomplish before contacting a prospect
- When and how to use email (yep, you probably need to fine-tune your email style)
- The number one sales line of all time that will allow you to make more money than you did in 2011
We think this is going to be a valuable opportunity for VisiStat customers and any small business owners grappling with visitor data and a need for better traction. So, sign up right now and see what you can do to improve your website and sales stats.
p.s. We have found all DemandCon’s workshops and resources to be stellar. Be sure to check them out.
Online Marketing Summit 2012: Are we there yet?
January 11, 2012Usability. Demand generation. SEO. Paid search. Web analytics. These are just a few of the valuable topics that will be covered at this year’s Online Marketing Summit (OMS) in San Diego, February 6-9.
If you’ll be there, we know you have a lot of hands-on workshops and education sessions to choose from. Make sure to include Social Media for Small Businesses, the session led by our own CEO, Jim Bennette on Day #1 at 9:45 a.m.
Jim will cover how social media influences customer behavior and purchasing habits, and how you can make better business decisions based on insights gained from social media activities. You’ll also gain a better understanding of how to measure your social media results.
Will you be attending OMS? We hope to see you there.
Also, what sessions are you looking forward to? Please tell us in the comment below so we can give a shout out to other not-to-be-missed speakers.
How to increase productivity in 2012
January 5, 2012Welcome to week #1 of a brand new year. If “do more with less” was your battle cry in 2011, then you probably focused on cutting costs and maximizing resources. But at a personal level, is there more you could do to actually do more?
Inc. Magazine recently highlighted 7 things that highly productive people do. Here’s one of the tips we plan on immediately adopting:
Stop multi-tasking. No, seriously—stop. Switching from task to task quickly does not work. In fact, changing tasks more than 10 times in a day makes you dumber than being stoned. When you’re stoned, your IQ drops by five points. When you multitask, it drops by an average of 10 points, 15 for men, five for women (yes, men are three times as bad at multitasking than women).
These small changes can deliver big results, but it’s not easy to adopt new behavior when you already have a set way of doing things. To stay on track, you have to be mindful and motivated. For a little help and inspiration, websites like DailyFeats and Mindbloom make it easier to implement productivity tips or reach even bigger personal and professional goals.
Happy New Year from VisiStat—here’s to your health, happiness, productivity, and continued success!
Make it easier for customers and leads to contact you
December 22, 2011You’ve heard of content strategy and how it can improve user experience and better address your business goals on your website, but are you aware of contact strategy?
Contact strategy focuses on the design, functionality, and messaging of contact information. When done well, it can dramatically increase online leads.
On Mashable, Daniel Alves recently wrote about customer communication and how to use contact strategy on your website. His tips are logical, insightful, and many are easy to implement. Here’s one we completely agree with:
Use the words “Contact Us.” It may sound boring or generic, but the phrase works. (There’s a reason exit signs don’t use the words “leave” or “depart.”) People don’t read your site — they scan — and they’ve been trained over time to instantly recognize those two words.
